About the MHMC

The Michigan Healthy Marriage Coalition (MHMC), is a coalition of community organizations led by the United Way of Jackson County, Marriages That Work (Lenawee County), Marriage Resource Center of Wayne County, and the Michigan Family Forum. These partners combine extensive experience and expertise to provide public awareness, relationship skill-building, and pre-marital and marriage enhancement services to youth, low-income couples and individuals, and incarcerated individuals in Southeast Michigan. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provides approximately $1.1 million to the MHMC under the federal Healthy Marriage Initiative.

Both married men and women have a higher level of happiness than persons who are single or cohabiting.
